Other Extreme DIY - after the Loft Conversion

Another project just being born, after a long pregnancy.
I'm now going to be covering what I'm up to at http://www.idostuff.co.uk/ and a blog at www.iDoStuff.co.uk/blogs . At this stage it's not not fully formed but I can't stop the delivery now. "Nurse, the forceps quick!"

  1. Hi Andy,

  2. Not the end of it quite yet, I just keep getting distracted. Now everyone has a room the pressure is off.
I've just got the landing ceiling sun tunnel to do. But it's never the right time to rip the old ceiling down.

Cheers for doing the piece, It looks like it has provided some really useful info for your visitors.

  4. Hi Andy,

I just did my loft, I decided that it would be best to just get the builder to do if for me.

But soon after mine was finished my friend decided that it was time to do his, but he decided to take the DIY route and save few quid and do a lot of the work himself. I say himself, what that really meant was that I would be giving him a hand.

I should have just got him to help me do mine and save a few quid as well. I ending up spending two weekends helping him do his loft conversion. No structural work, he left that to the builders. Well He is a good friend and so I couldn't turn him down.

Any ways I just wanted to say that your blog is great. I hope you can post more info on there. I've set up my own blog to help people around Birmingham as well. I'm trying my best to give people good information and helpful tips. Let me know if you think of any great ideas that I have missed in my blog. Cheers

    1. Hi Ian, Thanks for your comments, I can a fair bit on your site. Do you offer to do part conversions. i.e the roof work, steels etc., the bits of loft conversion that would put many DIYers off.
